Metrics
Evergreen entertainment focusing on Discovery (finding new OGs) and Stickiness (making sure they join the "Club").
Discovery and Reach
Since your brand caters to a specific demographic ("Old Gamers"), you need to know if your packaging (titles/thumbnails) appeals to that group.
- Click-Through Rate (CTR) by Content Type: Compare the CTR of your "OG" nostalgia content versus standard gameplay. If your "Retro Fighting Game" videos have a 7% CTR but "Modern Tech" has 2%, the data is telling you to lean into nostalgia.
- Impressions: This tells you if YouTube is finding an audience for you. If Impressions are flat despite high CTR, you may need to broaden your titles to include more "searchable" keywords (e.g., naming specific games like Street Fighter or Tekken alongside the "OG" branding).
Loyalty and Retention
The name "Fight Club" implies a community. You don't just want views; you want members.
- New vs. Returning Viewers: This is the most important metric for a "Club" style channel. If you have high views but 99% are new viewers, you aren't building a community. You want to see a steady "Returning Viewer" line in YouTube Studio.
- Subscribers Gained vs. Lost per Video: Look at which specific videos triggered the "Subscribe" action. For a channel at 950 subs, finding the specific topic that converts viewers into "OG Club members" is the key to crossing the 1,000 mark.
Feature
Average View Duration (AVD) / Retention Curves: Watch for the "Intro Drop-off." If 50% of people leave in the first 30 seconds, your intros might be too long or lack a hook. For older gamers, skip the long flashy graphics and get straight to the "Why this matters to an OG" point.
Relative Retention: Check how your video performs against other videos of similar length on YouTube. This tells you if your production quality is meeting the standards of the gaming niche.
Engagement
Since you have a website (ogfc.gg) and a clear mission, you should measure how well you are moving people off-platform or into your inner circle.
- Community Tab Engagement: If you post a poll or a photo, what is the engagement rate? High community tab engagement often signals to the algorithm that your subscribers are "Superfans," which prompts YouTube to push your videos to them more reliably.
- Comments per 1k Views: Gaming is a highly social niche. If you have 1,000 views but only 2 comments, the content isn't "sparking a conversation." Aim for a higher comment-to-view ratio by asking specific "OG" questions (e.g., "What was your first arcade memory?")
Strategy-Specific Growth: The "Shorts-to-Longform" Bridge
Viewed vs. Swiped Away: If your "Swiped Away" rate is higher than 30-40%, your Shorts aren't grabbing attention fast enough.
- Long-form Views from Shorts: In the "Content" tab, look at "How viewers found your videos." If your Shorts aren't driving people to your long-form "Fight Club" deep dives, you may need to use the "Related Video" link feature in the Shorts editor more effectively.
